Aeron Bergman & Alejandra Salinas

Aeron Bergman (b. 1971 in Detroit, USA) and Alejandra Salinas (b. 1977 in La Rioja, Spain) work with sound, video, performance, installation and drawing. With the documentary form as a starting point, Bergman and Salinas are interested in how aesthetic judgments determine the reception of content. Their works establish a dialogue with the rituals that have shaped national cultures, local identities and political viewpoints.

Aeron Bergman received his MFA from New York University and another MA (in art history) at University of Toronto. Alejandra Salinas received her MFA from Valand School of Fine Arts, Göteborg and completed part of her studies at School of Visual Arts, New York and Ontario College of Art and Design, Toronto. The duo have exhibited and performed their works internationally, most recently at IMO Gallery, Copenhagen, Van Abbe Museum, Eindhoven, Center for Contemporary Art, Glasgow, and Henie Onstad Art Center, Oslo. They live and work in Oslo, where Bergman holds a position as Professor of Intermedia at Oslo Academy of Fine Art.
